SAIL VIDEO SYSTEM

Over the Christmas holidays I was having a discussion with Marc van Dongen (producer and former Whitbread (Volvo Ocean Race) Sailer). We were talking on how we could make sailing competitions more interesting for the crowds left behind on the beach.

The solution was simple, if you can’t bring the crowds to the action on the boats, bring the action to the crowds.

So together with Rene Mullie of Nuguru.tv we developed a system that enables us to send live video from the sailboats, to the shore.

These video-feeds combined with multiple other camera angles were edited on the beach and displayed on a big outdoor screen and broadcasted over the web.

This system we named Sail Video System .

The teaser we send out was watched all over the world, and was viewed over

3000 times the first 2 days.

At this moment we are talking to various Sailing Comities worldwide, who all want to use it for their events.
